On the 33rd night of counting the Omer crowds from all over Israel will gather in Meron~around the building that encloses the tomb of Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai. The huge bonfires and dancing will go on throughout the night. Those who can't go to Meron will celebrate with their own bonfires and dancing all over the country. Jerusalem in particular is usually ablaze, especially in the Mea Shearim area. It is great fun to visit the various "back yards" where the fires are lit.
Perhaps nobody has reached more Jews than the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Years after his passing people are still telling "rebbe stories" and others listen eagerly. The clip below is the rebbe's Lag B'Omer speech (1984) feed from Lubavitch World Headquarters, in Brooklyn, New York. (Yiddish with English Sub-titles).
