Kehat Shorr and Andre Spitzer |
Forty years ago, a group of terrorists (funded by none other than Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas~AKA “Abu Mazzen”) crept into the Olympic Village in Munich. The result was twenty-two hours of horror and the slaughter of eleven members of the Israeli Olympic team. How could this have happened?
Ankie Spitzer, wife of Andrei Spitzer, (head of Israel's Fencing Program) along with the families of the other ten athletes, have asked each International Olympic Committee over the years to observe a single minute of silence~Only Sixty Seconds~in honour of the eleven who came in peace and friendship. She says: Silence is a fitting tribute for athletes who lost their lives on the Olympic stage. Silence contains no statements, assumptions or beliefs and requires no understanding of language to interpret.
After forty years, the Olympic Committee CONTINUES to REFUSE to acknowledge the eleven athletes who came joyfully to Munich in the Spirit of Peace and Competition and ended up being returned home in coffins...WHY!
One news caster when being interviewed stated: "we were not as accustomed (in 1972) to watching such a tragedy unfold". Perhaps this is part of the problem today~terror and murder (especially of Jews) is now "common".
In the First (1 minute) video, Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon calls on the International Olympic Committee to dedicate a minute of silence during the opening ceremony at this summer's London Olympic Games in memory of the eleven Israeli athletes who were brutally murdered during the Munich Olympic Games in 1972.
The Second video covers the events of that terrible day with interviews and comments from family members, newscasters and police who were there. This is the best compilation I have seen. I urge you to watch the entire film~I Challenge Everyone to watch to the very end~to understand fully what the minute of silence means to the children like Anouk Spitzer, who was only two weeks old at the time and would never know her father.
Andrei Spitzer's bio page has this quote (recalled by his wife):
Andrei Spitzer's bio page has this quote (recalled by his wife):
“The idea of the Olympics is first to forget that you are two warring nations,
Then you can come together in spirit, and through sport, find good in each other,
make friendships, forge relationships and find brotherhood and peace in each other”
Will The 2012 Olympic Committee Have The Courage To
Honour The Quest To Come Together In Spirit Through Sports???
