The Knights Templar~Nothing Like the MadMan of Norway

One of the things that the perpetrator of the massacre in Norway claimed was that he was a Templar Knight. This has prompted a lot of discussion on just who and what the Knights Templar were.

They started in 1119 with a mere nine warriors and their meteoric rise to power gained steam in 1128 after the return from Jerusalem. By the time they reached their peak of power their numbers were in the tens of thousands. They were rich~very rich and held debt notes from the very wealthy across Europe~this would eventually lead to their downfall.

I found an interesting series from the History Channel, that investigates their background, and eventual demise. So much mystery surrounds this group of crusaders, one has to wonder what was fact or fiction.

The series brings out the honorable beginnings, the associations and eventually the questions about their operations. They were indeed an awesome group of men whose history has inspired the stories of heroes and legends.

How much is real I can't say, but one thing I can say for sure, the delusional, murderous Norwegian was no Templar Knight.

What they did was killing thousands of Jews on their Crusades. Anders B Breivik forgot to mention this historical fact in his Declaration.

There was nothing mystical about the Templars, as they were just a bunch of Jew - hating killers.

The Templars were "mysterious" not mystical. Their inner operations have remained shrouded in unknowns to this day. All crusaders murdered, raped and robbed their way across Europe. The Templars did the same, but held together in a tight clique~like a cult. That being said, I still maintain that Breivik was nothing like the Templars. They had a cause (evil or not) while Breivik is simply a freak~a very evil freak whose only purpose was himself.
