The Rabbi and The Paratroopers

I first posted this story last year and decided to bump it up after reading an article in Arutz 7. It is a real "feel-good" story that I had not seen it before until I followed a link at Elder of Ziyon. The rabbi is Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman (also known as the "Disco Rabbi") and he is the Chief rabbi of Migdal HaEmek, as well as the founder of Migdal Or (Hebrew for "Tower of Light"), which was established in 1972 for the express purpose of providing education and social guidance to the children from underprivileged and troubled homes from across Israel.

The rabbi is well known for his good works and I urge you to follow the links above to learn more about the wonder that is Migdal Ohr

The video below is heartwarming and shows our people as they are--weather they are religious, secular, old or young--This is the Israel I know and love. This is the Israel that the world seems to hate so much. Yes, I will be the first to say that Israel is not perfect--but what nation is? As diverse as we are, we still have great people like this rabbi willing to step up...
