Just for Fun~Flash Mob Israel

For all the people out there who say Israelis are violent, war-mongers, racists or what ever--this video clip is for you. In September 2010, the folks at  Rishon Le Zion (First to Zion) beach in Israel were surprised with a mass "Flash Mob" dance put on as part of the new Lottery campaign. Rishon Le Zion is the fourth largest city in Israel (and very nice place to visit). The huge bug-eyed yellow, orange and blue "balls" in the background are everywhere the tickets are sold--no offense to the Lottery guys but they are a really ugly looking mascot or whatever you want to call them. This is just one of many flash mob videos, taken in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, etc--because Israelis just love to have fun.

Even though we are surrounded by enemies, peppered with kassams (rockets meant to kill and maim) and plagued with jihadists trying to kill (any way they can), the majority of Israelis simply want to enjoy life, and do so with great gusto. For those who continually criticize Israel I dare you to try this in Gaza--or any Muslim country for that matter! 

For those of you who are pro-Gaza/Hamas I thought I would enclose a few pictures from the beautiful Gaza beaches now that Hamas is running things. This is not a joke--this is what you get when you allow Sharia in. Wake up folks--they are already trying to bringing this garbage to the west and unless somebody gets the guts to say "enough" we will all be dragged back to the dark ages.

A New Cover for Joseph's Tomb

Arutz 7 has reported that a new ornate cover was placed over the gravestone in the tomb of the Biblical Patriarch Joseph in Shechem. 

This photo and others were taken and sent to Arutz 7 by Ma'ayan Ayish of Yitzhar, and can be seen at this link.

The tombstone (and many other Jewish Sites) were torched, defiled and desecrated by Arab vandals--a common practice among Muslims, who demand utmost respect for anything holy to them (of course!).

The destruction of the site was heartbreaking and carried out with violent hatred. The video below shows the tomb before and also during the desecration. Please watch it all--then imagine the world outcry if such a thing were done to an Islamic site. The time has long past for us to keep on with this politically correct madness--this is just one example of the ongoing bias, hatred and outright racism that is creeping into the world. The Arab countries surrounding Israel make no secret of their goal to wipe out the Jews and have all  of Israel and the middle-east under Islam--followed by the rest of the world. Nobody cries out when Abbas declares that not one Jew will step on "Palestinian" ground, but when rabbis warn Jews not to rent or sell our Holy Land to Arabs we are suddenly called racist.

Wake up! Be informed! There are many sites that translate Arab papers. You will soon learn the truth, that in their world there is always one speech for the English speakers and then there is what they tell their own people in Arabic.

Look at the size of Israel--then look at the size of the rest of the Arab countries surrounding it. Forcing us to cede any more land is a death penalty. Remember--if Israel is gone every country in the world will be on the threatened list--many already are almost  taken over.  Look at how Islam has spread through the Middle-East and Africa. The Muslim world is never content with what they have--their goal is to have it all--an Islamic caliphate that will rule the world--there is no such thing in Islam as living peacefully side by side. Islam only knows domination. We must take a stand now, for ourselves, our children and all future generations. Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and All of Israel...

Of Pig Races and Cemetaries~Rememer the Alamo ?

So, I received an email about a group of citizens in Seville, Spain who objected to the building of a mosque. They did not protest or make a fuss. Instead they buried a pig on the property. Is this true? A quick search reveals many posts and comments about the incident which supposedly took place this summer--Although pictures were provided, I have not been able to confirm the truth of it. 

However, I did find this post at Bare Naked Islam, dated 30 June 2010 about a story that was on Fox News,that does seem to be true. Apparently a  muslim group purchased land (next to a pig farm?) to build a mosque. As one who lives in the middle east I have had my days and nights disturbed with the screeching from mosque turrets--I would not want one in my neighborhood if I was living anyplace else (not really a choice here). Babies and pets find it equally disturbing.

Back to the story--the next move of the Islamic group was to ask the Texas farmer to push off--or at least get rid of the pigs near their property line apparently their were also some slurs. Obviously this Muslim group does not know about Texans and the Alamo--you just don't mess with Texans. As the farmer was there first, he resented how he was being treated so, what did the farmer do?  Hint:  He started holding pig races during prayer times! Seriously--watch the clip! (It should be noted that the pigs did not appear to suffer harm during their race to the trough!)

How the PA Treats Their "Special Needs Children"

On December 23rd, Beit El's "around the clock" security office was alerted to an infiltration at the security fence. Residents were told to stay in side with doors locked. A short time later IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers found a deranged young man walking towards the settlement. At first the soldiers thought he was drunk, but upon investigation realized that he was suffering from a mental illness.

The boy told investigators that his family wanted him dead. He said they threatened him at gunpoint, forcing him to walk towards the settlement with the hope that soldiers would think he was trying to infiltrate the town and would shoot him. The IDF soldiers searched and caught four family members fleeing the area.

Now, for the sake of argument, imagine what would have happened if this poor young man had been shot...Yeah, the world would be coming to Israel with tar and feathers and of course cameras for their "Photo-Op", while the "family" would be wailing and gnashing their teeth at the loss of their precious child (while demanding compensation and retribution, of course). And so it goes...

About Soldiers Who Defend Us

In England, North America and even Israel there are groups who make it a point to come out and hurl abuse at soldiers as they do their duty or return from a tour of duty. Without these brave souls we would not be enjoying the freedoms we do. To abuse them is a travesty. Sadly there has not been a loud enough defense for those who put their lives on the line for us. Thank Goodness Pat Condell has once again spoken up in his hard-hitting style. Although he is speaking about the "Sharia for the UK" fools who abused the returning soldiers in Luton, his words could apply to every country where the laws of freedom allow these welfare-collecting creeps to abuse young men and women of the Armed Forces. Good for him--now what are we going to do about it !

Jihad Bells from Bethlehem

Latma TV is well know for their comedy skits in Israel. Of course they have applied their wit to the Season. Sadly, for the PA to sing Jihad Bells is not unusual. The actual song starts at 1:28. A Time to Honour and Reflect

I have written about Arlington Cemetery here and I admit I am an ardent supporter of the Armed Forces in every free democratic country. I don't think enough can be said of the troops who stand on the front lines so we can enjoy our freedoms. Of all countries, I find that  the USA, (Arlington Cemetery) stands out as a shining example for us all. This story is one example, but it raises questions.  Why is this not mentioned in the mainstream media? Why is it that more people are not aware of this?  As a Jew I do not observe the season,  but I am touched by the honour and respect that is shown for those who have given their all. Maybe the rest of the world isn't interested but what is wrong that the US Media sees fit to turn a blind eyel? Shame on them.

There is a beautiful story about the wreaths at Arlington Cemetery. Each year some 5,000 wreaths are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

Hooray for Merrill Worcester and the people who take part in this amazing work. To the teachers in Maine who are giving students real values--you will reap the rewards of the seeds you are sowing--Never Stop!

With all the bad things going on in the world this is one touching act of love that should be shared. Please do pass it on to everyone you know. May God Bless and Keep all the Fallen Soldiers and Protect those who are fighting--even now.

Islam Was Born Out of Child Abuse And Rape

There is an amazing article on the blog Sultan Knish that must be read by all. I quote:

Mohammed's Allah was nothing more than his pimp.

Garbage Island~Not a Holiday Getaway

The blogosphere is full of amazing things--this is but one of them. Every time America or China (or anybody else) dumps plastic in water and it ends up in the ocean there are currents that grab the stuff sending it all to the same place.

It all ends up in the northwest part of the Pacific Ocean, approximately a thousand miles off the coast of California--a mass of floating plastic and other debris sometimes called Garbage Island or the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and it is estimated to be the size of Texas--some even say the size of the USA.

 

Not all of the garbage stays on the surface. Plastic does not biodegrade, but it does break into minuscule pieces that float just below the surface. These tantalizing bits are mistaken for food by fish and other sea animals when in fact they contain all kinds of toxins. Research has shown that this plastic marine debris affects at least 267 species worldwide--and, consider this, while the fish eat the plastic--we eat the fish.

By the way, although it may be called an island, if you try to stand on it you will sink right through--and immediately be covered over in plastic. In my opinion, instead of spending billions of dollars on costly global warming "conferences" maybe our governments should think about finding a solution to all the tons of plastic just "gathering" in the ocean--and growing...

What About Anjem Choudary?

Anjem Choudary is a well know figure in the UK. He calls for Sharia in England and wants Buckingham Palace turned into a Mosque. But how much do we really know about this "mouth" for Islam? 

In a 2006 report, student friends say he called himself "Andy", drank (alcohol), indulged in casual sex, smoked pot and even took LSD. Now he apparently lives off the "dole" and is calling for Sharia in the UK. 

Once again, Pat Condell has managed to put "Andy" Choudary in (comic) perspective--Enjoy!

Just What was Behind the Stabbing of Two Women?

All of Israel is buzzing with the news of two women who were stabbed while hiking near Beit Shemesh. Who and Why are the biggest questions. I found an article from Israel Insider on the incident--part is quoted below. Do go to their site for the entire story...

An American tourist killed in a forest outside Jerusalem was employed by an evangelical missionary cult (CMJ) that promotes Christianity with the primary purpose of converting Jews. Kristine Luken, in her mid-40s, was stabbed to death in mysterious circumstances Saturday while hiking with a "messianic" female friend, Kaye Susan Wilson, a tour guide for the missionary organization. 

The website of CMJ claims their goal is:

'To encourage Jewish people to come to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah, to support them in serving him as Lord in the light of God's purpose for them, and to equip the church to be involved in this mission.'

Missionary activity aimed at converting Jews to Christianity is illegal in Israel. The organization this woman worked for makes no secret of their intentions. 

So, why were they attacked? We may never know. Did they try to "share" their beliefs with the two men? It would certainly explain the attack. While Jewish laws are somewhat slack when it comes to missionaries the Arab world has no regard for any laws, or life.

Now, the press is questioning all aspects of the attack, but another question arises. How is it that someone who was actively involved in stealing Jewish souls is allowed to live in Israel? And when the second victim recovers, then what? Will she be allowed to continue her messianic work in Israel? We are supposed to be a Jewish state, and while I am all for allowing everyone to visit sites holy to their beliefs I feel very strongly that missionaries should be reined in.

Make no mistake--the attack on these women is tragic and inexcusable and I along with all people in Israel and around the world pray those responsible are found quickly. Tragically, it will not restore the life of Kristine Luken.

Hassan Nasrallah Wants Jews Out of Israel

A news flash from Arutz 7 reports that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said in a speech Thursday, that the removal of Jews from the Land of Israel and conquering the land by Arabs was a principle that the Arab world could not surrender on. Speaking at a Shi'ite religious event, Nasrallah said that “we will bring thousands of martyrs” to kill Jews in Jerusalem. “We will never recognize Israel. We will not surrender a grain of Palestine's sand.” 

Nasrallah as we all know, spends his time hiding in caves  only to rear his ugly mug and scream for bloody massacres (mostly of Jews). As he was born in an eastern suburb of Beirut, Lebanon one has to question just what his connection to "Palestine" is--other than his complete Jew-hatred.

Hezbollah has long been fighting for control in Lebanon and is gaining strength. Most recently Nasrallah threatened action if the report on the Hariri Inquiry is released--most likely because it is rumored that agents of Hezbollah and Syria are to be indicted for the murder. Nasrallah is a staunch supporter of terrorists and murderers.

Samir Kuntar &  Hassan Nasrallah

One of his pet lapdogs is Samir Kuntar who was released by Israel in exchange for the bodies of two reservists, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, captured by Hezbollah in the Zar'it-Shtula Incident (a "cross-border" attack and therefore an act of war under international law) that sparked the 2006 Lebanon War. Kuntar, was part of the attempted kidnapping of an Israeli family in Nahariya that resulted in the deaths of four Israelis.

In a most sadistic attack they broke into the home of Danny Haran and dragged Danny and his four year old daughter Einat, to the beach. Kuntar shot Danny at close range in the back, in front of his daughter, and drowned him in the sea to ensure he was dead. Next, eyewitnesses said Kuntar smashed the head of four year-old Einat on beach rocks and continued smashing her skull with the butt of his rifle until the child was dead. Since his release he has been feted and given  honours and awards by Syria and Lebanon (Hezbollah). This is who follows Hassan Nasrallah. 

Would Nasrallah attack Israel? Well, he would certainly incite and scream for an all out attack, but like the majority of the leaders in the Arab world he will rant and rave and call for young men to die, but  if (when) war breaks out, Nasrallah, like in 2006, will be holed up in his cave, screaming for Jewish blood. This old song has been around since 2006, but it is still relevant--Hassan Nasrallah, is still hiding and calling for "others" to do his murderous dirty work...

Danny Danon's Apology to Turkey

When the Mavi Marmara left Turkey it was to the screams of Kaiber, Kaiber el Yahoud, and multiple testimonies from terrorists hoping to get their 72 virgins. Nine of them succeeded and the fake peace mission was exposed. Since then we have had to listen to Turkey's PM, Recep Tayyip Erdogan braying like the jackass he is, everytime a TV camera is in range. He wants compensation so high it will break the Israeli government, he wants sanctions, he wants apologies and on and on.

On Tuesday, Israeli MK Danny Danon of Likud gave him his “apology” via a letter he read aloud in the Knesset. It doesn't get much better than this...

Regarding: The request for an apology to the government of Turkey for the events aboard the Mavi Marmara of the Gaza flotilla.

I would like to apologize to you in the name of the entire state of Israel for the fact that the state of Israel did not take sufficient care to check the terrorist ship Marmara before it left Turkey. That would have prevented the ship from being armed with guns and other weapons, and from transporting terrorist activists under the patronage of the Turkish government.

Because of our excellent relationship, and your great respect for the state of Israel and the Zionist enterprise, I must apologize for the fact that the naval commandos who, when they reached the ship, were greeted by armed terrorist resistance that aimed to murder them did not immediately defend themselves with gunfire, and instead acted with restraint toward the pretend “peace activists” who sought to kill them.

Apologies for the fact that the commandos acted carefully, taking into account the presence of civilians on the ship, and killed only nine terrorists. If the state authorities had known that there were terrorists on the ship, the order would have been given to kill any person endangering our troops.

With your permission, one more apology is necessary, for Israel's decision to release the dangerous terror supporters who were on the ship and not put them on trial for attempted murder, and even to pay for their tickets home.

And finally, please accept our full and heartfelt apology, for not asking the United Nations to censure Turkey, and for not demanding an investigation into the connection between the IHH terrorist organization,  your party and you, Mr. Erdogan.

Converts With Kids~Part II

I began this topic after meeting many converts with children. As in Part I, where I dealt with younger children, I reiterate that these posts are assuming that you will make an Halachic Conversion with an Orthodox beit din and that you will keep the mitzvot.

As children reach their teen years they come under many pressures, and being an Orthodox Jew adds to this. In a Jewish community pre-teens and teens are taught modest behaviour  and are used to separation between the sexes. If they have grown up in an observant home these things will come naturally. But what happens when you convert and you have a teen? Your child will be more aware of changes and might resent being pulled from a secular lifestyle into the observant world, but it is more than that. 

The change from celebrating "xtian" based holidays to the Jewish Calendar is hard--even for a consenting adult. Telling your teen there is no TV or video games on Shabbat and that there are days when fasting is expected are cause for rebellion. Think of the impact of telling a teen he will not be going to grandma for xmas--because Jews don't celebrate idol worship...think about it.

Now add in the need to pray three times a day (plus bedtime Shema) and the need for boys to wear Tsitzit and Kippah and to start laying Tefillin from Bar Mitzva...well you can guess the problems. Again, if they have been exposed from birth or pre-school the change is simpler. Many teens just cannot handle the burden and feel the need to escape. Once this happens it is very difficult to maintain "your lifestyle" and try to woo your teen back home.

Now think about social occasions. How do you tell your daughter that there are places where women are not allowed? Everything from prayers to weddings have a separation between men and women. No "mixed" parties. This is more "normal" in Israel, but think about the community you are living in right now. If your child is in a secular school and is invited to a party what reaction will there be when you say "No".  

For those of you who choose to remain in your own country, you will have different considerations than those who are making Aliyah to Israel. By "staying where you are" you will face the difficulty of "separation" while at close range. The reality is, you can be friends with non-Jews, but you will find that the differences are so great that you will be forced to distance yourself. I know you are thinking..."Well, I can still keep my same friends". And yes, you can, but then you should not be considering conversion. This is the reality. Choosing to convert to Judaism is not just a matter of "belief" or "feeling" or  the latest "fad".  Jews are a people and Jewishness comes through the bloodline of the mother. You can convert, but you should only do it if you are ready to sever yourself completely from your old life. If you have kids you truly need to consider the implications. Are you willing to "lose your children" (Gd Forbid)? It has happened.
