Shana Tova~Sweet Memories of an Amazing Lady!

Leah bat Simcha ז״ל (September 1932~July 2014)
Tommorow (Wednesday, 24 September 2014) is the first night of Rosh Hoshanah.

Many of us have been saying Selichot, and many are just looking forward to taking time off to be with family.

For me, I feel a mixture of sadness along with the joy of the New Year. This summer, on Monday, 22 July 2014 at 11:59 EST, my dear friend Leah bat Simcha left this world to be with Hashem.

Leah's birthday fell on Rosh Hoshanah, and each year she celebrated the day by giving a huge feast for her friends. Her table was a glory to behold and her food amazing. Each setting was complete with name tags sitting on a little menorah and a scroll listing the simanim and blessings so all could recite them together. There was laughter, singing and most important of all would be our hostess! Anyone who met Leah or attended one of her meals could not help but love her.

In all things she desired to please Hashem. She kept a list of people that she would pray for each day and she selflessly devoted her life to "all people", and always seemed to know just what to say or do. Leah never pushed, but then she would not back down either. Her faith was a shining force within her which she wanted to share with the world. Even when she was dreadfully ill, her time was spent in planning ways in which to help others. Her faith in Hashem did not waver and she never gave up hope!

While I rejoice in the coming festivities, there is also an empty place in my heart. That is the spot that Leah occupied. So, this Rosh Hoshana and each one hereafter I raise my glass to my beloved friend, sister, mother, advisor~the one who gave so much and represents everything good in a human being. I will remember and have a "little l'chaim"~Shana Tova and Happy Birthday Leah~Thank You For Being You!

It is said that
“all inhabitants of the world pass before G-d like a flock of sheep,
and it is decreed in the heavenly court,
who shall live, and who shall die,
who shall be impoverished, and who shall be enriched;
who shall fall and who shall rise.”

It was Hashem's decree that Leah had fulfilled her purpose, but I, like the rest of us on this earth must continue to strive to reach our own full potential. May we all be given another year to do so!
I wish everyone

New York City Muslim Day Parade~What the Hell!?!

Everybody has parades. Most cities in the free world have no problem giving permits to those who want to "show their stuff". It is not always what we would like to see, but then, we are free to stay home.

The Question Is:  Just how far does "freedom" go?

Only days after the anniversary of 9/11 New York City saw the "Muslim Day Parade". In my mind a parade evokes visions of fun, and laughter and sometimes a good pipe band. With the theme of  "Islam and America Share Common Values", one would expect to see many positive displays, but this was not the case!

Regardless of the "spin" this parade comes across as little more than a celebration of dominance and support of terror. Ezra Levant spoke with Pamela Gellar about the symbolism~and raised many questions.

Whether you like the people discussing the parade is of no consequence. What you need to look at it the "content" of this parade. If this is what is to be considered "sharing common values" then the free world is in desperate trouble.

Those in Canada should not be smug because this is not much different than what goes on in Toronto and other cities across the country. The glorification of barbarism and the open call for Israel to be obliterated have overtaken common sense and humanity.

Please watch carefully. We are approaching the abyss~unless good people stand up and say "enough" we will be doomed to step over the edge into darkness!

This Took Place in New York City Right After 9/11~I'm Gobsmacked!

Prayers For Rebbetzin Henny Machlis

Anyone who visits Jerusalem will know the Machlis family. For over thirty years they have opened their home to all Jews for traditional Shabbat meals. They give selflessly, greating everyone with warm smiles, good food and a taste of Judaism. They have never asked for anything in return.

From Rabbi Mordechai Machlis, countless numbers of people have begun to learn and continue to learn about Judaism, and to feel the fire of Torah. He is able to do this with the help of his loving wife Henny. All who have crossed their doorstep know her cheerful smile and genuine love, as she welcomes guests with the rabbi. If you have never known true love of Hashem and mankind, you will feel it and catch it in this house!

Now, friends of the Machlis family are asking for something in return~Your Prayers! I received this message and am passing it on. Please read and share with all of your friends...And Please Pray!
BS"D
Please Daven and say Tehillim for the next two weeks for beloved Rebbetzin Henny Machlis who is undergoing surgery on Tuesday, 20th Elul 5774 (16 September 2014):
